Antes de ingressar na CoinDesk em novembro de 2018, ele foi editor-chefe do Technical.ly, um site de notícias focado em comunidades de tecnologia locais na Costa Leste dos EUA. Antes disso, Seward trabalhou como repórter cobrindo negócios e Tecnologia para duas estações associadas à NPR, WHYY na Filadélfia e WXXI em Rochester, Nova York.
