EG Token

EG Token (EG) is a cryptocurrency native to the EG ecosystem, which operates on the Binance Smart Chain (BNB Chain). Originally launched under the name Elongate, EG Token was rebranded in 2023 following significant community growth and development. The token is designed to drive positive social impact through the use of decentralised finance (DeFi) technologies and innovative community-led products. EG Token is central to various ecosystem features, including a decentralised exchange (EGSwap) and a marketplace for deflationary token burn events.

The primary purpose of EG Token is to support initiatives that combine profitability with social impact. A portion of transaction fees and project revenue is used for token buybacks and social impact contributions. The EG ecosystem includes a range of products such as EGSwap, which enables the trading of tokens across multiple blockchains, and a Burn Party platform for organising token burns. EG Token is also used in partnerships and ventures like the HeadsTails prediction platform and within the Gator Gang NFT staking mechanism.
